Helen Zenith, Director

holds a Bachelors of Fine Arts from the University of Calgary. She also participated in the Triangle Residency Program Open Studio in New York City. Initially, Helen was an abstract painter, exhibiting in galleries and museums in Canada, USA, and England. During her career as an artist Helen was actively involved in the promotion of the Visual Arts in Alberta: curating, writing and assembling collections .In June 1992, Helen’s studio in Calgary’s Old Dominion Bridge Factory was transformed into NEWZONES. With over thirty years of experience in the Canadian art world, Helen has been invited to participate on numerous visual arts boards, art juries, as well as guest lecturer at the University of Calgary and the Alberta College of Art and Design (ACAD). Presently Helen is a member of the President’s Circle (ACAD) and is on the board of directors for The Epcor Centre for Performing Arts, Calgary.
