Ron Shuebrook is a nationally and internationally exhibiting Canadian painter who is the former President, Vice President, Academic, and Professor of the Ontario College of Art and Design. Now a Professor Emeritus, he has received an honorary doctorate from OCAD in 2005 for his contributions to art and higher education. Shuebrook's work has been collected by more than sixty public galleries and corporations including the National Gallery of Canada, Art Gallery of Ontario, MacDonald Stewart Art Centre, Kitchener-Waterloo Art Gallery, Beaverbrook Art Gallery, and Art Gallery of Nova Scotia. He has received numerous awards including an "A" Grant from the Canada Council in 1985, and a Fellowship, Fine Arts Work Center, Provincetown, MA., among many others. He has also published many articles, reviews, and catalogue essays for Canadian and international periodicals and public galleries.
For more than four decades, Shuebrook has pursued a career as an educator and administrator. In 2006, he received the Award of Distinction from the National Council of Art Administrators, an affiliate of the College Art Association.
