Cybčle Young
Cybčle Young creates intricate and intriguing objects fashioned from paper. The tiny sculpted objects are sometimes combined with etched images to create relationships that engage each viewer in a different way. A recent essay by Diana Reitberger states:
“The tactility of the work is very much the product of Young’s fascination with textile – her interest in how they denote social structure; that they represent a labor intensive activity, and that they ultimately reveal the hand of the maker”
Cybčle Young is a young artist who attended the Ontario College of Art, where she majored in sculpture and printmaking. Her work has been displayed in numerous exhibitions, most recently "Happy Art For a Sad World" at the Spike Gallery in New York.
