Artist Statement

Kristofir Dean’s geometric abstractions aim to capture the full spectrum of colour. Each bold line, every juxtaposing mark vibrantly saturates rich hues and captures both harmony and dissonance. From afar, Dean’s paintings appear as 3-D objects. They challenge the viewer’s perspective of visual space. Close up, the paintings immerse viewers in a chromatic boost that uplifts and energizes the senses. Dean gathers his inspiration from gemstones, glass, and other translucent substances, capturing their ethereal luminescence in bold, hard-edge styled paintings.
