Artist Statement

Canadian contemporary painter Jack Bishop has become well recognized for his brightly coloured figurative paintings. His two ongoing series — which explore the Canadian road trip and the symbolism of flowers, respectively — continues his material exploration of paint and colour theory. His paintings include the use of florescent and iridescent paints which have become signature of his work, along with the more recent introduction of heavy impasto.
